The Jio Fiber set-top box has been designed in such a way that it can accept TV signals directly from cable operators. RIL has already acquired controlling stakes in Hathway, DEN and GTPL.

Mukesh Ambani's Jio on Thursday announced launch of fiber-based broadband services, offering minimum internet speed of 100 Mbps for a monthly rental of ₹699. Jio Fiber will offer broadband internet speeds of up to 1 Gbps for ₹8,499 per month, the company said in a statement. The broadband service will offer unlimited data, free voice calling to anywhere in India as well as TV video calling/conferencing.

For existing JioFiber users, Jio will get in touch with them for upgrading their services.
